Hi. I've been a lurker on this board for forever and I finally decided to register because I have what I think is a huge problem. :-/

I'm currently enrolled as a freshman for UCSB Fall 2007. However, I am planning to transfer to USC for next fall. My dad went to USC and I had a meeting with an academic advisor at SC in June to enroll in certain classes in order to help me transfer in a year. Well, I thought that everything would work out buuuut I couldn't get into a Writing class for fall quarter and I guess you HAVE to complete two semesters of an english/writing class in order to transfer?

Well, what I am asking is what should I do?? I'm trying to enroll in an english class at SBCC for fall semester so if I get into an evening class there and get into an English class for winter and spring quarter would that fulfill the english requirement?

All I am asking for is some experience with anyone that transferred from either UCSB or SBCC to USC in a year??? Please help? :-////

It depends on your major, but its relitively easy to tranfer from a Cali Comm College to USC.

There was a guy on this board notwithstanding had a 2. something in high school, did 1 year at a CC and got in to USC.

Since you got into a UC directly out of high school, why dont you go to comm college for 2 years and try to transfer into a better uc like UCSD and UCLA. You obviously have proved you can get good grades, why not capitalize on that.

The only relitively hard majors to get into at USC, as far as I knonw, are film, and the Marshall business school.

Yea, the two people I know of who go into USC with 2.XX gpa is me and SCorBust. I had a 2.67 unweighted HS GPA. Did a year of OCC (38 units) and got a 3.76 GPA. I'm a Bio major too and have NON of my prereqs done.

well my dad went to USC and he has offered to pay for my full tuition if i go there anyway. and i originally planned on transferring to annenberg as a communication major but now im thinking of maybe an art history major in the general school to better my chances?

and i know this might sound stupid but i really wanted the whole "college" dorm experience i guess haha so i just decided to go to ucsb for a year. and i did get into ucsd i just chose not to go there, i really am drawn to the whole LA area anyway since i am interested in public relations/marketing/advertising buisness.

wow, doryx..please tell me your secret? lol what classes DID you take then?
