Help! UNC chapel hill out of state (OOS) chances??

I am a freshman in high school. There is about 200 in my classes. I'm considered one of the smarter ones. I am not able to take any AP classes until junior year I think. I'm also a white male from Connecticut who is very determined to go to UNC. I really need help with getting in if there are any suggestions or help.

Honors Biology - A
Honors Geometry - A
History - A (all freshman class. Only one level of class. No honors, extended, and core)
English - B (started with low B. Bringing it up. Teacher is hard on grading writing, not trying to make excuses though)
Spanish 2 - A (finished spanish 1 in 7th&8th grade. Going to continue spanish until I'm done with spanish 4 because my school does not have spanish 5)

If anyone can tell me what my gpa would be that would be nice. My school doesn't calculate gpa.

I haven't taken SAT's and ACT's because I'm a freshman and I don't take them. I am going to take practice for them though. I'm pretty good at test taking. I feel I can do good on the essay too. I heard if I write a good essay it will improve my chances. I intend on working on my essay a lot to make it the best I can.

Extracurricular - Varsity soccer
Varsity basketball
Most likely varsity baseball, possibly starting
(Trying to find somewhere to do volunteer work)

I'm not an allstar athlete where I could get a scholorship though.

I plan on taking these next year-

Honors Chemistry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors US History (possibly AP)
Honors English 2
Spanish 3

Please tell me these things that I would need to have a higher chance of being accepted -

GPA (W or UW)
Classes I should take
SAT scores
ACT scores
Other extracurriculars

I really want to have a major in something to do with medicine. I like sports so I'm guessing sports medicine would be best. I've heard from my parents and other people that I work well with little kids too.

It’s way too early to know if you’re going to get into UNC oos because you have not taken the tests yet and a lot can happen in the next three years. Enjoy your high school days.

With that being said, i got into UNC from LA with a 35 ACT, 2210 SAT, 4.74 GPA, varsity baseball starter, and varsity cross country (not heavily recruited for either sport). Six other students at my school with similar stats were accepted; however at least two students with 32-34 ACT and 3.9-4.2 GPA were not accepted.

UNC is definitely hard to get into oos, but if you work hard and take your time with the application, you should have little trouble.

Could you tell me my gpa now and the gpa I should have the next 3 years to have a good chance of getting in

You have a 3.8 (unweighted). All you do to calculate your GPA multiply the number of As by 4.0 and add it to the number of Bs bye 3.0. Now you divide by how many classes (credits) you are taking.

So, for you, it would be:

4(4)+3 = 19
19/5 = 3.8

Thanks…is that near average for the students that got accepted into unc out of state?

3.8 unweighted is pretty good. I have a friend with a 34 ACT and around a 3.8 UW GPA who got in from my oos high school

So if I can keep all A’s and get good scores on SAT and ACT and write a good essay then I could probably get in? And do they ask for unweighted or weighted, and ACT of SAT

And also, in a weighted GPA - is a B in an AP calss equal to an A in an honors class
