<p>Hey! I applied RD and am seeking financial aid. However due to certain complications (ie. parent getting laid off :( ) our annual income will decrease by 20k. this is a huge deal since our income is normally only 80(ish)k. i already sent in all the tax returns and what not so i finished their fin aid applications. </p>
<p>what should i do now since this is a huge chage in our status? Stanford's webpage said that changes to your financial statement will take around 4 weeks to process but decisions will be mailed shortly..help please.</p>
<p>listen you can get your financial aid paperwork done later (although colleges dont advise this at all) , but it wont negatively affect your decision especialy because it was sudden and out of your control. .. i say relax and send this ASAP .. you will get ur financial aid package later</p>
<p>If you are from the US, Stanford is need blind so it doesn't matter. If you aren't it probably still doesn't matter as far as admissions go. </p>
<p>Let the fin aid office know the situation. Even if it takes 4 weeks you might not get the official statemet from them on April 1st but you should get it well before May 1st.</p>
