Help Us Choose - UVA, W&M, NYU, Bowdoin, Middlebury

UVA has the best reputation.
UVA is the only one that isn't frigidly cold.
UVA is in the biggest city.
UVA has the most school spirit.
Bowdoin has the best sciences.

I'd go with UVA, personally. Maine and Vermont feel like Siberia.

There is a reason they call it Hotlanta, men, the weather, colleges. Lets face it transferring to emory would be the best choice. If that isnt an option then got to the "next-most-hot" as in UVA.

Have any of you seen the movie Leprechaun In Da' Hood. It was horribble, I mean come on what a rediculous plot, and talk about a far-fetched story line

I heard the director went to Middlebury, where as the person responsible for Titanic and Shrek went to UVA. However, those who took part in the creation of Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather and Pulp Fiction all were in some way attached to Emory. Not that any of these schools are known for their media sector.

Disclaimer: It is a very good possibility none of this information is true, but as intellectual beings I feel we can overlook this small problem.

Mr.Amazing I completely agree. These days facts seem to be over-rated. I think that society as a whole is reaching a point of existential equilibrium. Because of this I feel we as a whole (America) should turn our heads from the facts. Isn't that why we go to college in the first place?

With colleges turn more and more liberal, as 95% of professors brand themselves this way (thats a fact) I feel we should get rid of facts and concrete laws such as gravity. What is the point of anything accepted as truth if our president says things like, "I'm also not very analytical. I don't spend a lot of timethinking about myself, about why I do things" -Aboard Air Force One, June 4, 2003. This should provide a clear example to the American people that WE should follow our leader in not thinking.

Colleges seem to be going on the right path in this respect. Students need to be taught less of what the terrorists want, and more what the government needs us as Americans to do. If we don't the terrorists win. And if you don't want to go along this path, frankly, you are Un-American, and probably want to let the terrorists win. The government needs us more than ever, facts don't matter anymore. the idea of gravity, only if you live in a cave in Afghanistan. No, true Americans believe in "Intelligent Falling". Dinosaurs? Forget it, the terrorists have placed the fossils there to throw of our nations focus on them. The terrorists must be defeated, and the only way to do this is by focusing less on the facts and more on America. Is that not too much to ask of your country?

Don't get me started on terrorists, or maybe you should. I'll only comment briefly, as stated on the commercial for the box series of American Dad, "Terrorists don't laugh" which forces me to ask the question, has anyone heard someone from Bowdoin laugh? Please remember in answering this, we aren't taking real facts into account anymore. So, my conclusion going to Middlebury would be a government conspiracy and UVA is the only choice if you want your daughter to save the world.

I can't comment on the other schools but I have several friends who went to Middlebury and loved everything about it. I have visited before and I can tell you that the campus is beautiful and the kids are intelligent and extremely friendly.

Well put Mr.Amazing. Cartoons especially ones like "American Dad" Focus our nations attention on the important issues, such as terrorism. Now linking this with our relevant college discussion, as I understand UVA receives substantial grants from News Corp (NYSE:NWS). News Corp as we as Americans know is the proud owner of the New York Post, and Fox Networks among other markets. Fox is the channel which airs "American Dad". Coincidence? I think not. By looking at this (government approved) information the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from this is if you love America, and your daughter, but mostly America, you should send her to UVA

Extremely friendly kids scare me, reminds me of the cult in the episode of family guy where its Stewie's first birthday and Meg joins a cult and is narrowly saved from commiting suicide by Peter.

Friendly people are all well and good BUT NOT WHEN YOU ARE FIGHTING A WAR. Friendly people are not as vigilant, or American. As far as I am concerned UVA still is the way to go

HUH! Wat is it good for?

Toppling tyranical regimes, defending daddy's honor and getting oil of course. Did I mention that people with insanley perfect teeth and gums come from UVA. I'm actually serious, the graduate I met was a dental miracle, it was amazing, the entire time he talked I had trouble focusing on anything but his radiant teeth and gorgeous gums.

Lets take a look at the British, once a nation with the cleanest most dazzling teeth of the world. Because of their charming smiles they were able to charm themselves a global empire. Unfortunately they weren't able to keep up with dental technology. It's no coincidence that America as the only remaining super-power has the citizens with the best teeth. taking this concept and scaling it down to your daughter we can see how great a fit UVA is for her. First of all she will help continue Americas political dominance on the global scale but also a nice set of pearly-whites would ensure a healthy career and set of teeth for the rest of your daughters life. I applaud UVA as well as News Corp for their excellent work in this area

Commander Taco brings up a good point. Where did the British go? Are they still stranded on Pacific Islands fighting WWII without toothbrushes? I mean think about the plague and cavities, not to mention morning breath, and in my personal opinion (which is as good as a fact) you wont need to worry about this happening to your daughter if she goes to UVA.

Signing out,
Mr.Amazing -Making the world a more amazing place, because I'm here.

Midd kids have nice teeth too but moderately so--too much radiance can be distracting and we wouldn't want that. If you go to UVA you will waste your parents' money because your education will be hindered by distraction caused by perfect teeth, and once you get over their teeth, you will be absorbed in their absurdly fabulous gums.

LaurenP88 do you have some vested interest in making this young girl ruin her life? I mean come on, this isnt the right thing to do. Perfect gums and teeth are what this nation was founded on. Mediocrity is something that will not be tolerated, at least at the upper-level schools such as UVA and Emory. I think you should stop dragging this young woman down especially when she has the rest of her life ahead of her. You life is your choice (albeit the wrong one), and her choice is hers, and her choice clearly should be UVA

Well you see Lauren, if I may call you that, you seem to be overlooking one major fact. The teeth come with the diplioma. This means that you can learn anything without distraction, or learn nothing. See, with such a bright radiant smile you don't really need to know what you are talking about. MichelleC's daughter can simply charm her way to the top with her radiant smile and super cute dimples. This means she will quickly make back the money her parents spent on college tuition ten fold.

I think a lot of Americans neglect the fact that they have never seen a terrorist with dimples. Seriously have you? The answer is no of course. Cute dimples are something our nation holds dear, especially in these important times. MichelleC's daughter has what i like to call "Freedom Marks" on her face. These will benefit her in two ways. First of all they will enhance and complement the perfect smile UVA will provide her. Second, future employers can rest assured before and after the job application process that MichelleC's daughter is not a terrorist.

Well, if you are ruling out her daughter's terrorist activities based on dimples, I feel Bowdoin must be crossed off the list, plus it has too many vowels for a 2 syllable word. Now for American tradition lets focus on dimples and football. Dimples are the sign of American individuality, freedom, cuteness. Go back to Shirley Temple with her curls and DIMPLES, did she not go to work with the UN? Well in case you were wondering she was a delegate to the UN from 1969-1970. Now, if I were you I would also look at your daughter's hair, if it is curly thats another indicator for UVA and America's salvation. I however am off topic back to American individuality, lets look at football, the only place in the world where football is really football, very American. UVA has a tremendous ammount of school spirit especially with regard to football proving their patriotism and inability to be terrorists. Plus I believe the Alumn with the insanely perfect teeth played football, I wonder if he has dimples....
