Apparently my Financial Aid checklist says that I need to submit proof of citizenship.. Does anyone know why I would need to do this? I was born outside of the US, but I do have my citizenship (as I have lived in the US over 10 years and both of my parents are citizens), and I also provided Columbia with my SSN.

Also, apparently the last date to send in proof of citizenship was yesterday (about an hour ago). Will my undergraduate application be affected if I don't send that in time? Will I be classified as an international student until that time? Does this only affect my financial aid or my undergraduate application as well?

I am having the same problem, I shot them an email on Sunday but haven’t received a response. I currently have my passport/SS card and License scanned into a PDF so that I can email it if they need it. I don’t think it will change the outcome of your application. It might just delay your FA package notice.

All they need is a copy of your passport.
Scan and e-mail.
No, they won’t treat you as international for being one day late.
To avoid such problems next year, have your parents go to the Social Security office and update your citizenship status.
