Prompt: Describe something outside of your intended academic focus about which you are interested in learning.
I don’t really know how to write for this. Since I want to major art practice. Should this topic be something related to art? like music? (since I play piano and cello) Or should the topic be out-of-the-ordinary? like chemistry?
I’ve already written how I am interested in pet-vetinary from an experience when I saved puppies when I was little.
Since I already selected music as my alternate major and wrote about it on the “how do you plan to pursue academic interest” essay. I have nothing to write about.
Hey! I applied this year too. I had the same problem. Could you possibly write something for the other prompt option (something that is essential about yourself?)
@aag2019 Im considering it, I’ve already drew down some ideas for it. But since my Common App essay is the prompt about my background, identiy, and talent, I’m trying to avoid that prompt just because they’re almost similar…
I think they are poking at whether you have intellectual curiosity, and whether you will take advantage of the university’s resources to delve into something new.
Ohhh. For my essay, I talked about something obscure about myself. I guess it kind of related to my career path. But is there a class outside of your intended major(s) that interests you? I think @intparent is right. They want to know that you will take advantage of their resources. An idea could be to find their course book and find something in there that interests you. Maybe you want to take some animation classes.
