HELP! UW or UCSB

I have finalized my college choice to University of Washington in Seattle or UC Santa Barbara. I've been accepted to both but have yet to receive any Financial Aid from any of them. In terms of location/weather, I live in California so UCSB would be more convenient in that sense.
I am undecided for both of the colleges and am open to possible disciplines, but I want to pursue either a biological or medical major. Considering this UW offers a better biology program(ranked #15 compared to UCSB #46).

Help! I'm so confused.

If money is an issue, ucsb will probabpy cost a lot less (instate).

While UW has a great program, I heard its not easy getting to popular majors or majors with less slots. Not sure how hard the major you considering is but its something to keep in mind.

UCSB does not offer an undergraduate medical degree. Neither, I’m pretty sure, does UW. So I don’t know where you’re getting that from.

As for ranking, it doesn’t make a whit of difference to you. The undergraduate courses you take at either school are more than sufficient to teach you all you need to go further with your education. Rather than focus on rankings, try to find someone that can explain to you exactly what difference it would make to go to a program that is ranked 30 places higher oot off the 4000 universities in the country. That should show you how silly that is.

Go to the school that is a better fit for you. If money is a consideration, stay in state.
