Help w/ my GPA

Okay, I have a problem that maybe someone with experience can help me with.

A few years ago I switched to an extremely small, competitive, private school from a mediocre public school where I was at the top
I have the highest PSAT and SAT scores in my class but my GPA is only a 3.73 and I am ranked only 10th out of 27 in the junior class. I beat the 4th ranked kid (4.02ish gpa) on both tests by a 20 and 200 point margin, respectively, but I just don't know how they can get such good GPAs. I try hard and am no slouch but I am .46 pts behind the #1 rank who I also beat by like 100 points.

They are all pretty smart but not geniuses (of course I am not either). They're just all insane work horses. The one period I got to be 4th ranked in the class I was having to kill myself and it only lasted for a month. I pulled like 3 all-nighters in a single nine-week period before I broke down and couldn't do it anymore (that's when I drifted back to tenth). You CC'ers seem affluent in these areas; are there any strategies, tips, or solutions you can offer that will help me?

how are your extracurriculars? you gotta take those into consideration too.

couple things.

either you 1) procrastinate 2) get distracted 3) don't work fast enough

if it's 1 or 2, you can fix those.
if it's 3, then you need to up your pace.

I'm not really sure I understand how they are 'work horses' more than you if you pulled 3 all-nighters in a 9-weeks......? maybe i'm not used to being like that.

however, don't compare the SAT and ACT to GPA. it's comparing apples and oranges; they aren't directly related.
