<p>i think the word "that" makes a difference here. you have to keep the parallel form "not only that... but also that..." if you just had "but also" it would not be parallel.</p>
<p>i agree ^, "that" has to be follow, if "that" isn't there, it doesn't matter if thers a verb or what soever, its wrong.
i've seen this type of prob numerous times in BB i think.
same thing applies for structure like this:
not because of... but because of...
