I am from the UK and have an undergraduate(BSc) degree in Sport and Exercise Science. I got a 2:2. I'm not exactly sure what this is equivalent to in the US, I read somewhere it is a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Basically I am looking to do a masters within a related field preferably with a physiology emphasis within the degree. I play Football (American not Soccer) and would love to go to a US college for this, but it is near impossible to get a scholarship being from the UK. So I would want to be a walk on. NCAA division doesn't matter to me at this point I am just looking for a college with cheap tuition and fees or that offer substantial international student scholarships. To put a price on it $20 000 a year all including room and board would be what I am looking for, but the cheaper the better. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate the help!

College sports teams in the US are typically made up of undergraduate students and it looks like you will be applying for Masters degree programs so scratch that idea out. You should look into public schools that don’t have enough international enrollment and are seeking to increase their numbers here.

Also think about whether you are willing to work while you are attending university in the U.S. This is frowned upon in the UK, but it is considerd normal in the USA. Students often take jobs in the community such as waiting tables or tending bar. (All college towns have PLENTY of bars!) Many students are able to find jobs on campus. Graduate students often work as “teaching assistants”, helping the faculty teach their courses. And often a professor will just say “I’m supposed to be teaching this undergraduate course, but I want to go work on my next book. So since you are the teaching assistant, why don’t you just teach it for me.”

Without a job, or some sort of financial aid, I doubt that you will be able to find a graduate program for “$20,000 a year INCLUDING room and board”.
