I did a dual-application to LSA and the School of Music...was accepted to the LSA last month and got an audition date for music yesterday. However, because of the logistics of travel, practicing, etc., and some real thought, I'm thinking I might withdraw my music application.

Does anyone know if I can do this separately from LSA and whether or not it will impact my LSA acceptance?

Anyone that can provide any insight?

I know this isn't a common situation, but I'm not sure what to do.

I would probably call the school and just talk to them about it

I think LSA admissions is separate from the school of Music. You were admitted by LSA, and I am pretty sure that's a concrete acceptance, regardless of whether or not you decide to pursue the Music application. You probably want to call the admissions office WITHOUT identifying yourself and ask the question. I am pretty sure you will be told that you can withdraw from the Music school application without altering your status with LSA.
