I'm new to this forum, and I wasn't sure where to post this question, but here goes. My husband went to college for four semesters, and he ended with a horrible GPA and on academic probation--that was three years ago. As school fell apart, he joined the Army and now that he knows what he's doing with his life, he's trying to figure out what his options are to finish his bachelor's. From what I understand, you can't just start over as a freshman if you've attended a university previously. Is this correct? He has the choice to complete an Associates degree based on the military classes he's taken, but if he does nothing, after he gets out of the army in two years, would he be considered a non-traditional student in most places? Or should he finish his Associates and show a great GPA from that? Going back to his previous institution is not an option, but he is trying to get into the best school possible with a bad track record, and he doesn't know how to do it! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
