I just found out that there were grammatical errors in my common app essay. I am applying to Cornell as my ed school. The result will come out in 12.18. What can I do now? Can I email the admission officer and resend a new essay? If yes, can I resend a brand new essay?
Thanks a lot for your advice!
A grammatical error isn’t going to sink your application. There is nothing you can do at this late junction for Cornell.
Correct it for your RD applications if you need to.

Thanks! I will write a new essay for rd. So at this time have the admission officers finished reading all the applications? Or they haven’t finished reading it until the decision comes out?
General practice is they won’t consider additional materials or corrections after submission deadlines.
And my bet is that yes, decisions have been made.
Decisions absolutely have already been made so there is nothing you can do now to fix this. If you get deferred, you can fix the essay for your RD application. The grammatical errors won’t sink your application unless they are too plentiful and devastating to the integrity of your essay.

Thanks for your reply. Will definitely correct the error in rd round.
I definitely would not worry about it. If nothing else it will make the point that you really did write the essay, and you did not hire a professional essay writer.
And yes, get going on your RD applications and double check for grammatical errors.
Years ago I was turned down by Cornell for graduate school and attended my second choice. I loved it! If Cornell turns you down too there are LOTs of other great schools. Best wishes.
Thanks for your reply. Looking forward to the result on 17th.
