okay i am only a sophomore in high school and i want to become an ob-gyn. so before i go into next years classes, here's a little background:
freshman year i enrolled late in the school i went to, therefore leaving me with a schedule of spanish 1,
honors algebra 1 (even though i had taken algebra 1ab in 8th grade, there was no space in a geometry class for me),
no science class because bio classes were full,
world history,
speech & communications,
technology app,
religion,
pe &
english 1 honors
i was also on the jv softball team and an active member of JSA
....then summer going into sophomore year we moved to colorado. in colorado, i took
geometry,
geography,
pre AP world lit
spanish 2 (which soon turned to spanish 3 after only 2 weeks),
earth science systems, and
biology
i was also on the JV cheer squad and an active member of Rachel's Challenge club. i also was involved in a group break out session with Rachel Scott's parents and brother as well.
...then i moved back to california around december this year. now my classes at my current school are
spanish 3
geometry
pe
english 2 honors
world history
biology
i am an active member of the CSF club at school.
....my classes for next year look like this
spanish 4 honors
english 3 honors
us history AP
chemistry honors
algebra 2 honors
and electives may be pre-med course and principles of biomedical engineering and the human anatomy.
i am also trying out for the varsity cheer squad. if that does not work out then varsity softball.

my current GPA is 3.8 unweighted and 4.0 weighted. my school does not rank, but im sure i am in the top 20%, if not the top 15%. i am first generation to go to college. I am mexican and female. My mother is a single parent as well. I am an active volunteer for the Bank of America volunteers and the Wells Fargo volunteers. My mom is a loan officer, and my dad is...a deadbeat (as harsh as that sounds).

soo as i stated before, i want to become an ob-gyn and i want to go to a reputable school with a great program. i was told by other CC members that my dream schools: UCI, Stanford, and UCLA are too far out of my reach and that i need to aim lower, so that is why i am posting this. to see what schools are in my range so that i can start researching. also, if anyone knows of ANY way to help my application stand out... please let me know. at this point, anything will help me.

thankk youu
