Help! What do I do with a 32 ACT?

Hi! I’m a junior and I just took the ACT for the 3rd time yesterday. On my past 2 tests, I’ve gotten 32s, and my hope was to get a 33 or 34 on this last one, but that test was brutal and I know I bombed it. My question is should I bother taking it again? I really don’t see my score improving, honestly. I already get perfect scores on English and Reading, and I know for a fact that I’m only going to pursue the humanities and social sciences in college. Math standardized testing is extremely difficult for me and always has been, despite my doing well in school math classes, due to the time constraints. I’m most likely going to apply early to my top school (not an Ivy, but top 15 and hard to get into) and my current GPA is pretty good (3.9 UW, 4.5 W). Would it be worth it to take the test again in June or in the fall? Is it going to make a difference? I have a feeling it won’t and truthfully, I’d really like to be done with all of this.
Thanks for reading! Any help is appreciated

I would try to do a lot of math prep over the summer and take the ACT again in the fall to see if you do any better.

I highly doubt a top school or any school is going to say, “Hmm… he only got C32. Let’s not accept him.”

It’s probably going to be like, “Hmm… he got C32, not bad. But let’s see what else he has to offer. Let’s take a look at his GPA, ECs, essay, etc.”

What do you do with a 32 ACT score? Jump up and down for joy, and move forward from there.

My daughter is in the same boat. She took it once and got 35 on both reading and English but didn’t do great on Matth or Science so she has a 31. She just retook it and hopes she did better but I don’t see her getting much above a 32 given her challenge with the time on math. She is a great student too and plans to study humanities. I hate having her kill herself over the summer to come up maybe one point when she could be working on essays and other things to get ready for senior year. I’m curious if having perfect or near perfect scores in English/Reading like you and she do will be enough to get her into competitive schools knowing she has no plans to study math or science.

I think you’re okay. A 32 with a 4.5 is pretty awesome. Have a nice college essay too and you’ll definitely be considered. Best of luck!
