<p>I was just polishing up my ACTIVITIES/INTERESTS section when I noticed a "PS" COLUMN next to the grades 9,10,11,12 columns. </p>
<p>WHAT DOES PS STAND FOR?????</p>

<p>I think it means post-secondary. Not all Princeton freshman come directly from high schools.</p>
<p>Yeah I guess it's post-secondary, too, but I interpreted it a bit differently. Thought PS would stand for the purpose to pursue it even after HS.</p>
<p>In the text above, it says: Which ... during grades 9 - 12.</p>
<p>But guess your interpretation makes more sense. (Not that it made a big difference for me: In Germany we have 13 years, so for me PS = Year 13)</p>
<p>Do you start with a Kindergarten year?</p>

<p>I actually asked the admissions office about the "PS" and they said it did stand for post-secondary, (as in gap year) but not what DavidAlex was saying (as in, it doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you want to continue after HS).</p>

"Check in the right column (PS) those activities you hope to pursue in college."</p>
<p>No no, WindSlicer. We've got 13 years of regular school.</p>
<p>4 years primary and 9 years of high school. It will be shortened to 12 years in 5 years or so, but currently we have to attend school for 13 years.</p>
<p>Hmmm...I'm taking the Princeton App. At least I know where my idea of the PS came from.</p>
<p>Mallomar, I originally thought it meant what it means on the Common App, too, but I asked the Princeton admissions office just to be sure. They corrected me and said it meant post-secondary, NOT whether you want to continue it in college. I don't blame you for thinking that "PS" means the same thing on all apps--that would make a lot of sense, wouldn't it?!</p>
<p>ugh..i thought it meant the same thing as on the common app and so I checked off some stuff...peer mentoring etc etc. Will that hurt my chances...should i call and explain myself or don't bother?</p>
<p>I wouldn't bother, because they will know you are still in school. If anything, it is so insignificant a change it would only annoy them (they must be pretty busy). I wouldn't worry about it at all.</p>

After hearing what DaveAlex said, I went and ripped up my other app page and made a new one with "PS" checked off. then I read that btles actually asked the adcom and i went and ripped up the new one and made another one w/o "ps" checked off.</p>

<p>Guess we are all a bit hypernervous. From what I've experienced by now, they are pretty relaxed. Maybe we should calm down a bit and just do it as we think it to be right.</p>
<p>To be honest, I believe that they asked the questions intentionally ambiguous to give us some room. Just my 2 cents.</p>
<p>I totally agree with you, DavidAlex, both about the hypernervousness (what a great word) and the intentional ambiguity. However, that does not stop the ambiguity from being a bit annoying to hypernervous teenagers! :rolleyes:</p>
