help~what is the chance to get off the waitlist of Boston College??

<p>don’t know what to do…i really love Boston college and BC is almost my first choice. but now i was waitlisted. Is there any one can help?</p>

<li>is there any chance for me to get off the waitlist ( i am an international student)</li>
<li>Is there anyone who ever got off the waitlist? just give me some hope and then i will wait!!!</li>
<li>should i contact the admission officer, add a why essay to confess my love or send supplementary meterials?? does it work or will i try too hard??</li>

<p>SAT-1950 TOEFL-103 SAT2-2170
（not outstanding at all, but i had only one month to prepare for it and have really tried my best!)</p>

<p>class rank: top 10% GPA:4.01 (scale-5)</p>

<p>2 strong recs- one from the Honor assitant school principal, another from my english teacher.</p>

<p>Awards:
national math competition—3rd prize (9th grade)
national oral english contest-1st prize (11th grade)
awarded “school integrated outstanding prize”, an award for top 10% students-3 times( 10th grade,
11th grade, 12th grade)</p>

<p>EC:
star player in the school basketball team( awarded " all star player")
establish the organization-association of students studying abroad in the USA(one of the directors)
volunteer in city library/ hospital and social welfare center
teacher assistant in city’s experimental school (teach math and english)
3 weeks research in the education system and situation of the interior China</p>

<p>hobby
piano/oil painting/movie production(currently making a talking show and soap opera set in our school)</p>

<p>presently can’t think of anything more…hope there is chance!!

<p>Uh is your “sat 2” your sat retake or the sat subject test? Sat subject tests are out of 800…not 2400. It was probably your gpa to be honest. The average gpa for boston college on a 4.0 scale is 3.5-3.7+ and yours was a 3.2</p>

Math level 2-780 physic-650 chem-740</p>

<p>I am an international student from China. our school’s GPA system is different from american high school’s. That’s how we calculate the GPA</p>

<p>90-100=A+=5
80-89=A=4
70-79=C=3
60-69=D=2</p>

<p>my GPA which is 4.01 actually means i got most A and A+ and some B.</p>

<p>I had only one last chance to take the SAT cause I started my application too late.</p>

<p>Yes！I am not applying for fin aid and actually BC don’t provide fin aid for international students.
But the thing is i don’t want fin aid and i was still waitlisted…T_T</p>
