I just finished sophomore year and am now a rising junior. I am currently an Econ major at a top liberal arts college and am leaning towards a career in Education or Business (I know its very broad but I just want to keep my options open). Right now my GPA is a 3.0. This semester I really struggled with my econ class (Micro theory - known to be one of the two hardest courses in the major as its with calculus). I did really bad on one of the midterm but pulled a decent grade on the final but still ended up with a c+ in the course making it my lowest grade for this semester (the class average was a b-). I don't know if I should continue the major or not. I was considering doubling in economics and religious studies but decided to back out since i may be minoring in deaf studies now and I didn't want to have two majors. Now however, I am considering switching to religious studies. My dean and professors say I should ultimately choose whatever I may enjoy more and would result in a higher GPA. My friends think a religious studies major is a very bad idea unless I want to become like a priest or something. I talked to my econ professor and he said with the average being at a B- C's aren't that uncommon in this course for econ majors. However, I'm not sure if I should continue the major, especially if it will continue to drive down my GPA! If you have any advice, I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Look at it this way. You made it through the toughest course. Why give up now.
