Stuck between Boston University, Santa Clara, and Seattle Pacific. Looking to be Pre-Med but also open to exploring other options. SPU is less than half the cost of BU and SCU (they’re about the same).
I don’t know too much about Santa Clara and Seattle Pacific, but I did apply and get accepted to BU. I actually go to school in the Boston/Cambridge area (though not at BU), and one thing I can tell you about Boston University is that it is close to some of the most incredible hospitals, research centers, and biotechnology companies in the country and the world. Since I don’t know too much about the other schools, I can’t compare, but this is just something to consider! As a premed, you’ll be able to find a lot of opportunities at BU and in the neighboring areas. If you have more questions about general pre-med things, feel free to ask! (I’m a prospective pre-med college freshman)
The standard advice for a pre med is to choose the place that has the best combination of cheap price and potential for high grades. Sit down with your parents, and run the numbers here: https://www.finaid.org/calculators/awardletteradvanced.phtml Talk about where, exactly that more than twice as much could come from if you were to choose one of the places that isn’t Seattle Pacific.
Seattle Pacific is in the middle of the city. You should have no trouble sorting out opportunities for medical observations/shadowing/volunteer work.
