HELP! Which is better?

I am an international student so I am out of state for all the schools. Cost does matter BUT I am more interested at how the colleges match with my majors first :)

Simply said, I am interested in these majors:
- Business
- Sociology
- International Relations
- Sports Management
- Kinesiology
- Education

I am thinking of applying to these schools:
- IU Bloomington
- Penn State University Park
- Purdue West Lafayette
- Wisconsin Madison
- Maryland College Park
- UMass Amherst
- George Washington U
- U of Illinois Urbana Champaign
- U of T Austin
- Ohio State University

Which colleges are better for what I am interested in? Please HELP!

It is not as broad a list as “completely undecided” which many students enter college as.

But having a list of possible majors should allow the OP to check the offerings in each subject at each college to see how suitable they are for each possible major.

Can anyone give me an estimate of which colleges are simply good for which majors?
Like for business…whether IU Bloomington is better or U of T Austin or Maryland, etc…
Just for any of the majors you guys know.

The problem is that, typically, education majors will have vastly different profiles from people who want to major in International relations. Since we don’t know your profile we can’t know which school would fit you best.
All the schools on your list are roughly the same, so it depends on what you want from your college experience.

Someone recently mentioned that the US State Department hired more graduates from George Washington U than any other university, so I suppose that means they’re very good at International Relations. The campus is pretty close to the US State Department’s headquarters.

Indiana has a good reputation for business.

Ohio State is an athletic factory, so I’d check it out for sports management and kinesiology.

Okay so all the colleges I listed fit me…some with the sports atmosphere…some with the pretty campuses…etc…

I just want to know which college is good at what…apart from me.

Like I get Kelley is good (IU Bloomington) and what else? What is Penn State good at? What is UIUC good at? ETC…

Can no one tell me that? It doesn’t matter what I want…I just want to know the facts about the SCHOOLS…

All colleges are good for education, but Pennsylvania does not accept non-American teachers. I don’t know for the other states.

Penn State is good at business, engineering, information technology, and I suppose sports-related stuff. But so are Madison and Maryland CP…

All these schools are similar. There’s no standout and no completely inadvisable school for the wide range of majors you’re interested in.

OP, you should partly pick a university that resonates the most in whatever part of the world you live in. Unless you get married to an American, or get an employer to sponsor you for a visa, you’ll have to go back to your country after graduating. So you may want to pick a school that will be recognized by employers at home. For example, in the US we know how good Wisconsin or UT are – but will employers in your country know that? Have they ever heard of George Washington University?

If I were to narrow down the majors to let’s say…

 • International Relations
 • Sports Management
 • Sociology

Which schools are better?

And I agree…I live in South Korea and I feel like most of the colleges I listed aren’t TOO recognizable but most are pretty decent.
