Help...Which school is better for Biology?

I've been accepted to University of San Diego, University of Denver and Chapman University. Which is the best choice for a Biology major? I'm so confused...

WOw so weird, i’ve been accepted into the exact same schools so far!

I already made a post comparing USD to chapman

What is your major? Which is your first choice? I live in so. Cal …I thought it might be a great experience to live out of state but I don’t know if USD or Chapman is a better school than DU.

The faculties look about equally qualified in Bio. However, if you have any interest in Marine Biology, USD, being effectively next door to Scripps, has a very strong oceanography faculty.

I also live in so cal. Yeah i keep switching. I asked my counselor this past week about the schools and he said to me i should definitely go to a national university rather than a regional one(chapman). And then i asked him, if he was making the decision where would he go, and he would choose DU. Im not really sure why, i guess because its ranked higher? Have ou looked at all the campus’s? Based on campus tours to me, it would go DU, USD, then Chapman. I really liked the community at DU and i kind of liked the thought of something different. But then again, i was also concerned about being far away and the fact that it accepts 70% of applicants and the stats are lower than USD and CHapman. I’ve been watching the videos which kind of give you a taste of the schools, well for USD and DU, i havent found videos for chapman.

Are you still waiting on more schools like me?

Wow…you said pretty much what I was thinking. Chapman gave me a MUCH larger scholarship but I don’t think that they are particularly known for their science program. My brother goes to USD so I’m already familiar and comfortable with that school. It’s beautiful and not too far from home. It’s statistics are higher (SATs, GPAs) and admittance rate lower, so it seems that it would be the better school but I spent the weekend at DU’s admitted student event and it felt like a good place to be. It was comfortable, the students were friendly, and their science progam seems stronger than USD’s. For those reasons I think I’ve narrowed it down to DU and USD. I’m still waiting for Santa Clara but I’m not sure if I would chose SCU over the other two. Any other feedback from students at those schools would be greatly appreciated.

the stats of admitted students seems like a dumb reason to pick a school. Look into the programs and their rankings. If you like USD go for it, but basing your decision off which school accepts more/less kids is pointless. U Pacific is ranked 101 and they have an acceptance rate in the thirties while U Denver’s acceptance rate is in the 70’s, and U Pacific’s ACT range is 22-27ish. If a school wants to they can accept a lot but all with higher scores, or very little with all lower scores.
