I did really well on science this September (brought it up 9 points from June) but my writing score was only an 8. Do I submit both scores and let colleges see the 26 on science (but also the 10 on writing) or do I only submit the 34 with the 8 on writing (sick)? keep in mind that i plan on applying to the upper echelon schools (ivies, stanford, duke, uchicago, mit).

I would submit them both. I think it's highly unlikely that the 26 in science will hurt you, but there's some chance that they'll look at your higher writing score.

anyone else have an idea? i'm really mad that i got an 8 because i'm a much better writer than that. i think it may have something to do with the fact that i left out the conclusion...

Unless you were planning in majoring in a English/writing type field, I would just submit the second one. Colleges can see your writing from essays, but they can't see your science ability.

well obviously but would you say the higher you score the less and less important writing becomes (to a certain degree, i'm not saying you can get like a 4 on the writing or something)?

I would think they only use it as a confirmation, since the test has only been around for a few years. If, like you said, you have a four on the essay and you turn in this spectacular common app essay, some eyebrows may raise (especially since they can view your SAT/ACT essay online).
