help! which should i take - ap spanish or ap chem

hi i think im posting too many threads at a time haha
but this one, i really really need help!

im a junior and im trying to decide on which class to take next year.
since most of the good east coast colleges recommend 4 years of foreign language, i was thinking about continuing my 4th year of spanish, which would be ap spanish(my school doesnt offer spanish 4)
but at the same time, since im very interested in science major, i was thinking maybe taking ap chem would be better for me. :(

i really cannot decide. which would help me more? ap chem or ap spanish?
i dont mind both of them. I somewhat enjoy spanish and i dont mind chem.
Both are tough classes, so i cannot measure which one's better than another.

p.s.
- i took spanish 1, 2, 3 in fresh, soph, junior years
- 9 = bio honors, 10 = chem honors, 11 = ap bio, 12= physics hp
so if i take ap chem next year, i'll have 2 science classes (i dont mind)

i really need to decide as soon as possible! help me :( haha
and thanks in advance!

spanish. don't give up those cumulative 3 years of spanish. If you want to, you can self-study AP Chem... it's not that bad.

Eh? I would take chem for a science major. What good would spanish do ya as a science major?

AP Chemistry if you're interested in a science major. My DD (sophomore) takes honors/AP science, math, English, and history every year, but Spanish honors won't fit b/c of the way the scheduling is done. The GCs are saying there's no question that it's better to take the honors/AP in the other subjects over the language unless she's planning to major in Spanish or something related to the Spanish or foreign languages.

because 4 years of spanish shows consistency AND because i came to U.S. 7th grade, i thought taking 4yaers of foreign language would help me since it shows my passion and challenges. (and i DO really like foreign language. it's just that i want to have science-related job in the future.)

chem would definitely help me since it will prepare me for the college, but getting accepted in that college is more important than being ready for that college... am i wrong? because i could just learn the stuff when i acutally go there. well, any other ideas?

You say getting in is more important than being ready, I'd say ap chem = ap spanish in the admissions process, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Take AP Chemistry. The AP Spanish exam has become increasingly difficult to accomodate all of the native/bilengual speakers who take the same test. At my school, students only take AP Spanish if they have already had four years of it (start in Middle School) with As all years. Even so, many top Spanish students at my school get low AP scores because they just can't stay up to par with a test geared towards native speakers.

I have this same problem. AP Spanish vs. AP Comp Sci/AP Stats. I'll probably go with the latter.
