This has been brought up once before, but how bad do my grades have to be to get rescinded.

I was already getting a low B in Calc, and I think I'll end with a C, and I also might end with a C+ in AP statistics. Other than that I have all As & B+s.

To get rescinded you have to do very, very poorly. As in sub 2.5 - maybe even sub 2.0.

I doubt anyone who got into NU could pull a worse than a 2.5 their 2nd half. It’s just hard to bomb that badly and I’ve only heard of one person who has EVER been rescinded.

I know i’m going to get a “C” in AP Calc BC (my teacher seriously hates me…because i don’t suck up to him), but I’m not the least bit worried. Math is not my strong suit; I even put that in my application. Plus, Calc is a tough class…I’m sure they know this and will not rescind you for just one class. You’re fine.

Assuming this kid is telling the truth, 4 Cs (out of 6 classes) can definitely put you in trouble. Yeah, there are some people that say no Ds or Fs. My guess is that the “no Ds or Fs rule” is probably fine for most state schools and privates that aren’t super selective.

IMHO I think 1 C is fine. 2 is pushing it, not for being rescinded but getting a letter asking you to explain.

On that note, I doubt that the whole “they are over-enrolled” notion is going to make Northwestern want to rescind more students than it should.
