Help with 2 math problems

The two problems I need help with are from the math section in Preparing for act 2012-2013.

The figure below consists of a square and 2 semicircle, with dimensions as shown. What is the outside perimeter, in centimeters, of the figure?

I though I did this one right, but I guess not.

What is the surface area, in square inches, of an 8-inch cube?

I'm unsure of what formulas to use for this one.

link to the pdf is at Test Prep | ACT Student or http://media.act.org/documents/preparing.pdf

If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated :)

The horizontal sides of the square are 8 cm each so they total 16 cm. The two semi circles together have the perimeter as a full circle with the same radius (r=4) C=2rpi=8pi. So our answer is 16+8pi which is B

If each side of a cube has length 8 then the area of a side is 64. There are 6 sides of a cube so the total surface area is 64*6=384, which is G

Thank you!!
