Umm...I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but I thought it was kinda mainly related to "can I get in?"

I messed up on my PSAT this year and got a 205...if the National Merit requirements are the same as last year, then I probably only get Commended. I wanted to ask if I should report this on my college applications, particularly those to the higher-ranked schools. I'm worried that it won't look really well...

Will it weaken my chances if I include it on my applications to the Ivies? Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

You think the Ivies are mostly concerned with your PSAT score?--or that they don't where the cutoffs for National Merit finalists are?

Here's a statistic for you--the school that enrolled the most National Merit Finalists last year after Harvard was--surprise!!--the University of Texas at Austin.

Just post your PSAT score on your application to the Ivy-league schools and don't bother putting down whether you were a finalist or commended or whatever. They will already know your status based upon the score.

P.S. Good luck with your college application results.

Regardless of how high an honor you get for your PSATs, it is STILL an achievement. Yes, definitely include it on your college application!

Thank you so much Calcruzer and saxophonegirl!!! I'm way less worried now. :) That's a really interesting statistic - I never would have thought that, lol.
