NJRes: You know that Taylor was the first non-Beatles act signed to their Apple Records? That song appears on his first (and only) Apple album, in 1968, but presumably it was written before he came to London, since he got signed on the strength of the songs he already had, and that was the calling-card song. The Harrison song was originally written for the White Album, so it was around the same time Taylor was recording. Wikipedia, without citation (as usual), says flat out that Harrison was quoting Taylor's line. That seems the more probable vector to me.

Ruark: Forget the girl, not that you will. Failing that, resign yourself to a long, messy, and frustrating relationship with her, and don't let her keep you from your life, whether in Tempe or Oberlin. Oberlin College is great (and I know some great girls there). It sounds like you would love it, and enjoy playing soccer there. But it's obviously a luxury -- you don't NEED to go there, and it sounds like Oberlin would definitely cost you considerably more than ASU. So you, and whoever helps you pay the bills, have to decide how much that different experience is worth to you. I wouldn't let fear of lowering your GPA control you, though. That's a crappy way to live, popular though it may be with students posting on CC.

Also -- You do not come across as the world's most decisive, forceful guy. Nothing wrong with that, especially at 20, but you should think about getting a new screen name.
