help with admission!!!

next year I plan to graduate with cumulative GPA of 3.2 unweighted, 3.6 weighted. 2 honors classes 6 AP and one DE. In the top 30% of my class. I'm a black male, I'm graduating a year early, and I'm from out of state,(louisiana) EC: 1 year beta 2 year tennis team, 3 years track team, 2 years DECA club , 2 years key club. 3 years African American culture club. 28 on the ACT. And I've ran competitive summer track for seven years, and I have a good chance of being on the us youth national team this year. And I've competed at the junior Olympics 4 times. And also last year I had a discipline problem. Getting suspended twice (minor offenses) and 6 other minor offenses. What are my chances of getting in?

You should apply and make every possible effort to obtain an athletic scholarship. The stats for unhooked OOS applicants are very high. UF caps their OOS admissions to about 3%, although over the last few years it has been even less. UF’s mean GPA for in-state admitted students for 2011 was 4.30 and the mean for SAT was 1963 and ACT 30. The stats for OOS admissions were much higher. Like UNC-Chapel Hill and a few higher rated state flagship schools OOS admissions is very difficult. Good luck.

IMO, Unless you qualify/offerred an athletic scholarship, I believe your chance for admissions as an OOS URL would be extremely low with your stats. You may want to reach out to UF regarding an athletic scholarship–utilize your swimming to your maximum advantage! Good Luck.

how come OOS students have a lower chance of getting in?
