All right, so I want to organize a large book fair in my city. Now, I want to advance this idea and, if the book fair is successful, I would like to organize a program where books are donated to elementary and middle schools and for a day they would have a mini-book fair. Now, how would I incorporate myslef, so to speak? What I'm trying to say is, how can I organize a program independently of an organization? I've seen it done by people making their own nonprofits, but I don't think that's the route to go into with what I'm trying to do. Could I even do that, or would I need to make my program a part of an organization?
Also, does anyone have knowledge of how to get a collection of books to the book fair? What are the sources; would they come from libraries and would they be their real books or discards? What are some other sources to get books from other than libraries?
I anyone understands what I'm trying to say, please offer some advice.

Yeah, well I'm thinking about it not being really a book fair, but libraries giving away books. So, it wouldn't be for profit, just for literacy's sake. But then again, that wouldn't really raise money. Are there any sources that would give me money in a grant form to buy books? Then, I could sell them for a profit? Again, I don't know about that.

a recent episode on oprah (last week) had a lot of people just randomly getting pajamas and stuff directly from companies, without any outside source

You could very well do a used-book fair. A private school in my city holds one every year to get some profit. They have all the students bring in textbooks/books that they no longer need. Maybe you can go around and have book drives? Or if you have the funds, make a deal with scholastic. I know they always hold book fairs at my school, but they're never successful because high school's the wrong market.
