Help With Application!!

Hey Everyone,

So I've submitted my Harvard application (hooray!) but I have one problem. For one of my extracurric's, I really did not specify properly on the common application what this extracurricular entails, nor did I specify the responsibilities I hold. Is it possible for me to either email or send a letter to Harvard Ugrad admissions fixing up this problem? Thanks!

It depends if the EC is a big deal or not. For example, if you put "tutoring" instead of "tutored 6th graders in math 3 hours a week" then it's probably not worth going through the trouble. If it's "founded a tutoring company", then you should tell them. But then again, if you were really the founder of a successful tutoring company, you probably won't forget to put it down.

Thing is, Harvard09, I volunteer at my local hospital. And next to it I put "Senior Leader." What I didn't explain is what senior leader means. Senior Leader is analogous to President, and therefore I'm in charge of all 120 or so volunteers at the hospital, and making sure everything runs smoothly on all 11 shifts. I didn't realize this ambiguity when initially filling in my app, and I honestly do think this would make a difference. What should I do?

Could the person at the hospital who is in charge of coordinating the senior leader program write you a recommendation?

Not a bad idea...I think I'll do that. Thanks mathmom!
