Help with audition songs (MT major progam)

Hello! I’m Abby, and I’m a senior in high school. I’ve done various community and regional musicals for years, and I’m extremely interested in the MT program at Westminster (it’s my top choice), and I’m obviously very worried about being accepted. I’ve heard it’s quite competitive, but I adore the program. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for audition songs for me to use. I’m a soprano, but I would really consider myself a “high-mezzo”. I would like to use songs that are less known but still recognizable, if that makes any sense. Here’s 2 recordings of contrasting songs on my Youtube channel:

Please keep in mind some of these videos were recorded a while ago, I’ve improved a lot since then. These are the most recent, however:

[“Green Finch and Linnet Bird” - Sweeney Todd (cover) - YouTube](<a href=“http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Yi19oLEuk]"Green”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Yi19oLEuk)

[“The Trolley Song” - Meet Me In St. Louis (cover) - YouTube](<a href=“http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx5I7HuetK4&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL]"The”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx5I7HuetK4&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I’m stressed out about all of these college auditions, so I would love to hear any suggestions.

Thanks for your time!

Hi, Abby:

Welcome to College Confidential! There is a lot of information to be had here, but I suggest you spend a few hours perusing what’s already here before you ask a lot of questions. Your question has been asked and answered MANY MANY times here in this forum and if you do a search you will find some good information.

But I believe the best place to start is here:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/477658-preparing-apply-information-h-s-juniors-seniors.html</a></p>

You will find SO much helpful information there. Again, welcome to the MT forum and we look forward to getting to know you better.

Thank you so much for the welcome! The reason I asked this question, although it has been asked many times, is simply because I would like suggestions based on my voice. I have been browsing the other questions and have gotten great information, but I would really like some advice specifically from the recordings I’ve provided in the thread.
