<p>Does Qualifying for the National Science Bowl count as "any academic distinctions or honors you have received since the ninth grade or international equivalent"?</p>

<p>My team won the regional to get to nationals. I got a certificate of participation even though we did not place in nationals (as it was our first time there).</p>

<p>So it counts as a regional distinction, but what about national distinction?</p>

<p>I’d say “national distinction” means you actually had to place at nationals. Unless there was a state level, it sounds like yours is of regional distinction.</p>
