Help with Campbell and Reece AP Bio class tests

Hi,
I am taking AP bio this year. We use the Campbell and Reece 7th edition textbook.
What I've noticed is that a lot of people are struggling despite spending the most time in this class, including myself.

Our teacher, to say the least, is "retarded." She did not know that a DNA goes inside a nucleus. It's also been 6 months and she has not returned A SINGLE assignment back to us.
She takes 5 minutes to pull up someone's grades, and sends at least 3 exact copies of every email she sends, probably because she forgets that she sent them a few minutes ago. There have been multiple attempts to fire her, but she claimed racism, so she could not be fired.
Her "lectures" involve her reading off a powerpoint made by Pearson Education. She literally reads straight off the powerpoint, and still sometimes messes up.

Anyways, enough about my teacher. I've felt that even if I know everything and take every practice test the teacher gives us, I still do bad because the questions are so twisted, and are usually in the form of "Which of the following is (NOT)...", which makes it impossible to think of your own answer before looking at the choices.

Are there any tips for tackling the Campbell and Reece bio tests? Am I going to have to spend 8 hours a week memorizing every sentence of the chapters? We have a test on 2 chapters every week.

Thanks.

Btw, “■■■■■■■■” is the word that almost everyone I know uses. Some people use “Down syndrome” to describe her, even on ratemyteachers.com.

LOL your teacher sounds pretty messed up.
I’m also studying for ap bio. i think the best way to score well on c&r bio tests is to really thorougly read it 'cause after all, answers r all there in the book rite? i’m nt saying tht u shd memorise every line in the text book, tht’s probably near impossible :stuck_out_tongue: nd more likely a waste of time. try nd use studying techniques like flashcards nd mindmaps or something. mayb u shd first focus on big chunks nd outlines of the text nd then memorise smaller details. it always helps for me anyway.
hope this helped, nd if nt sorry. :)
