Help with CB question of the day

Hi all.

I am trying to figure out why I need to use "Due to" in B (because). I tried to read about it, but just couldn't understand it. Can someone please explain it.
Due to modifies adjective, but in this sentence, it shows "crossed[verb] with great care[adverb]".

In the interior of the Arctic islands during the

melting season, even small streams must be

crossed [with great care] [because] near-zero

water temperatures and the [typically] rocky and

unstable nature of [stream] beds.

Thank you

I think you better change “because” into “because of”

The error in this sentence occurs at (B), where there is an inappropriate idiom. The phrase “due to” should be used in place of “because.”

Hint:

Think about why “even small streams must be crossed with great care.”

So it is not because of.

Thank you for your comment.
