I'm pretty positive I'd like to become a print journalist or magazine editor. My parents and I have been debating the advantages of studying journalism as an undergraduate at a J-school vs. getting a BA in another field of study (most likely sociology for me), perhaps with a minor in communications/journalism, and then getting a graduate degree in journalism. Any thoughts? Does anyone know if studying journalism as an undergrad would be more beneficial in the future, or if employers prefer a broader education in another major in addition to a journalism degree?

Thanks!
