Help with choosing schools! NYU, CMU

Hello all,
I'm trying to figure out what school to choose. I've been admitted to CMU's economics program (Tepper + humanities and social sciences) and NYU's GSP. I know that it might seem like an easy choice (at least for my parents it is) because CMU is stronger academically compared to NYU's GSP.
I've heard that CMU has never-ending onslaughts of work... I do not wish to spend all day buried in books, I'd like to enjoy my college experience too.
I really like NYC because of the sheer amounts of activities and opportunities around. But getting accepted to CMU's economic program seems like too big of an opportunity to not go to...
I've also been waitlisted to UMich but right now the main issue is between CMU and NYU because i need to pay deposits!

What do you say?

Both are great. Although CMU is stronger than NYU academically, both have equally awesome Econ departments. In your case, I would focus on fit. CMU is smaller and has a more traditional college campus/community. NYU is in a great part of NYC. You cannot go wrong, but it really depends on your personal preference.

Thanks for the quick reply!
Yeah because of the internship opportunities and since I've been living in a large city all my life... I will probably go with NYU.

GSP? Do you really want to spend all that $ on GSP? Are you considering economics at NYU? or Stern?

Agree with poster above. You really should decide whether you want a school with a campus (CMU) or not.
