I'm wondering if anyone can guage whether one school is academically superior to another one. At UF there's an honors program, and the honors dorm was built like 4 years ago and is really nice I heard. Case is ranked higher though (yeah, yeah I know that's not important...) But Case has weather that a southern person like me is not used to...is anyone here taking weather into consideration? Everyone tells me not to.

And yeah, I've heard case is not that great socially, but students tell me there's always something to do if you want...i'm more interested in activities, not parties

Yeah, I also forgot to mention that I'm applying to medical schools afterwards. So I don't think "prestigious" would matter later in life, just maybe when I'm applying to medical school...but then again I think I'd be okay applying from Florida too...I trust that I will turn myself into a good applicant

And about paying more for Case: TRUST me, money is not an issue at all (at least between these two schools it isn't)

You're going to pay $100k extra for UNC over UF for the social scene and a slightly better prestige factor? Will your undergrad's prestige factor at all into getting into the MD school?

$100k is a lot of money.

Start at UF - you can always transfer if it's not a good fit.

I'd go with UF for only 3,000. but if Money is not an Issue such as you parents are well financially and you can pay off any loans then I'd go with UNC. isn't it a top 20 school.
Case Western doesn't seem that appealing. Go with the two schools that are a little more warm.

joeysweets, UNC is close...it's 27. But among public universities I think it's 5th.

I agree that Case just doesn't sound so appealing...but I should visit first because I used to say that about other schools before I visited them.

And UF...I don't really have a reason as to why I shouldn't go there! It's cheap and it's a good school...but maybe it's just not what I had in mind all these years
