Help With Classes

I’m in the process of making my schedule for my senior year and am conflicted. The classes I’m definitely signing up for are AP Calc BC, AP German, and AP Psychology, but everything else can change… The major issue is that my school offers a program that allows us to take semester-long courses in history and english the final 2 periods of the day and then 2nd semester leave early to go to an internship. In addition, I can either take 2 classes, AP Statistics and Graphic Design, or just AP Biology. My dream school is Columbia (even though I have a 0 percent chance of actually getting in), but am also applying to USC, UCLA, American, and a bunch of state schools. Would doing the internship instead of taking AP English Lit and AP Gov hurt my chances of getting into any of those schools? Would not taking a science course my senior year hurt my chances too?

Are you a CA resident?

For UCLA, you need 1/2 year of a government class and 4 full years of English. Would your Senior AP English Lit fulfill a year long course? Also do you have a year long Visual/Performing Art’s course: Art/Choir/Drama/Music theory Etc… which is another UC requirement?

@gumbymom I’m actually not, I live in NY! The half year history course is the government class and I took Concert and Symphonic Band freshman and junior year. However, English is an issue definitely… Thank you so much for the help!!
