OK, so I have to decide between two schools in about a week (I know the deadline was May 1st, but disregard that...it's taken care of). Option A is a large state school where I can stay at home, commute, and actually make money ($4000/yr?) attending school (my father has retired=financial aid). Option B is another state school, although smaller and more prestigious, about an hour and 15 minutes away where I would obviously dorm. Here I would pay, but only about $3000 a year because of the same financial aid situation. Some factors playing in:

I'm not sure I want to leave home. I'm the youngest of a large family and the feeling that my house wont really be my home anymore tortures my mind. Plus, my mom and I are very close and I think leaving would make my parents...well...sad. The birds have left the nest. Plus, I have money in my pocket by staying home. But on the other hand, I believe the "college experience" is something that needs to be experienced, although I am not too sure if the whole dorm life is for me. Public bathrooms, crappy food, constant parties...etc. And it does cost something to attend school. Also, the undergraduate education is better at the smaller school (Geneseo). And it would be hard to make friends commuting to school everyday but I would try to be involved, and I'm in the honors program. I'm not looking for complete strangers to give me an answer, but any advice would be appreciated.
