Help with College List!

I'm a rising junior who is starting to research colleges and I'm having a hard time finding schools. I'm a lower income student with a 1500 SAT (M + CR), 3.5 GPA (I attend a top New England boarding school that doesn't rank) so a college that offers merit scholarships that I would be competitive for would be awesome in addition to colleges that have great need-based financial aid. I want to find a diverse school that has a gay friendly, liberal atmosphere located in an urban city environment. The college should have a good international relations/studies program or human rights program and a bonus would be a good film studies program.

So far I'm looking at:

American
UChicago
Brandeis
USC
Tufts
Emory
Boston U

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Tulane?

I think you’re male from the tone of your post, but if you’re not, Wellesley would fit the bill. Or Barnard.

I looked at Tulane before and didn’t think it was that diverse but I’ll take another look. And yes, I’m a guy!

what do you mean by diverse? that is a loaded word! lot’s of people on this board like to use it but have different meanings behind it or just use it because they hear it again and again from others and think they need to use it.

so if you want diverse you can go to howard university (unless that is to diverse and probably not lgbtq friendly)
if you want gay friendly you can go to hendrix college

if you want a great all around tolerant happy student body I would look at yale, muhlenberg, hendrix, and haverford.
