Help with College list?

Hi, I’ve been mulling over college choices this week, and had a great visit to Lehigh on Saturday to watch the FIRST Robotics competition there. I’m looking for schools in the northeast with a nice, prestigious vibe to them, and beautiful campuses. If anyone could help adjust my list or suggest schools for me to check out, that’s be great.

My top two picks are Cornell and then Lehigh, if that says anything about the kind of schools I’m looking for. I’m not too worried about cost, as my grandparents can support me wherever I choose to go.

I'm planning to major in Electrical Engineering, as well as possibly double majoring in Music Education or minoring in theory and composition.

I come from a fairly competitive high school (Moorestown High). However, my class of 2014 is especially competitive, where friends who were in the top 5 students at other schools have to work hard just to be in the top 15% of my class.

My school doesn't rank, but the top 15% or so of my class is extremely close.

I've taken 2 AP classes both Sophomore and Junior year (APUSH/Music Theory, US Gov/Chemistry). I'm taking 3 AP classes next year (Calc AB, Physics C, Computer Science)

The majority of my other classes are all honors. while my GPA isn't sky high, my schedule is extremely rigorous. My school doesn't report unweighted GPA.

I’m taking the SAT in May and the ACT and Subject Tests (Math II and Chem) in June.

PSAT:
Math - 58 (I made a LOT of stupid mistakes and could probably get a 70+ if I retook it)
Crit. Reading - 70
Writing - 70

GPA (W) (9th and 10th): 3.5976
My GPA for Junior Year will probably be ~3.75 (W)

EC's:
Jazz Band (3rd Trumpet)
Honors Jazz Band (Lead Tenor Sax)
Pep Band (Various instruments)
Pit Orchestra (soon to be all 4 years)(Trumpet/Soprano Sax, Baritone Sax, Tenor Sax)
Soon to be leader of robotics club as of next year when we start a competitive team

Accomplishments:
4th chair bassoon in All South Jersey Symphonic Band
1st Bassoon 2 years in a row in Western Burlington County Honors Band
Award for most promising jazz soloist in our school freshman year

Hobbies:
Computer Overclocking and Repair
Gaming Console modification and repair
Music (I play 9 instruments fluently, learning 2 more)
Circuit Design (Designed a PWM fan controller using a 555 timer and potentiometer)
Wireless signals (have built multiple biquad, dipole, and yagi antennas)

Reach:
Cornell (close friend of my dad’s is president of alumni association for my region)(cousin just graduated from there 2-3 years ago)
Villanova

Match:
Lehigh
Rutgers NB
Lafayette
Penn State – University Park

Safety:
Rowan
Syracuse
Temple

Bump to the top. Any help at all would be appreciated. I’m worried that I was a little too thorough in my OP…

Thank you for your very constructive reply. I’ll be sure to check in with my guidance counselor.

What are your test scores? ACT? SAT?

Without these scores, you will not know what your reach schools are. You won’t even know your safety schools.

Gaming Console modification is illegal and a copyright violation so don’t put that.

You could add U Rochester to your list to consider - esp if you want the music aspect. It’s also a pretty campus and has engineering.

Other than general looking, you’ll need to wait on those May scores to know where you’ll fit on the reach → safety scale.
