Help with College List

You need:
2 schools you’re sure you can get into, like, and can afford. One of those will typically be your public in-state university’s honors program, if you apply as soon as the app goes live you should be able to get your answer before the big admission cycle starts.
3-5 schools you can and are reasonably confident you can get into but have selectivity above 30% and are affordable according to the net price calculators (we’re talking net price, NOT sticker price). For you, this may be Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, RPI, Cal Poly SLO.
Once you have these, you can add as many reach schools as you wish or can afford.

@Procrastinator, What is your class rank? The only dent I see from your listed stats is your GPA. So, I encourage the idea of applying broadly and early to a financial and academic school, which will make that a safety once accepted.

I notice RPI on your list. Is your school a participant for the Rensselaer Medallion Program. A school can nominate only one Junior from their high school. You may want to check into that. Good luck.

My school doesn’t rank, and thank you all for your responses. .
