bump-----anyone

Too top-heavy, babe. All of these schools are highly competitive, and if you do not have a couple more matches and several more safeties, you could be very sad come April.

I think your stats are great, do not get me wrong. But the schools are still highly competitive no matter what. You need more safe bets.

thanx collegehelp

There are many on the list that collegehelp has given you that could hardly be called match/safeties. MIT in particular is considered a "reach" for everyone, given the admissions climate these days. You have not indicated what your grades are like, the challenge level of your courses, or what kind of ec's you have. All of these will factor in with your scores to give the schools the whole picture of you as a student and a person. Talking to your GC about the schools that might be a good match is something you need to do, if you have not already. Picking up a good college guide book would help as well (we thought Fiske was very informative, and also the Princeton Best 350 colleges) There are many that can give you a good idea as to what kind of grades/scores ranges each school has for their "middle 50%" students, their strongest academic programs, demographics of their students, costs, etc.

Good luck--and make sure you have a balanced list!!

im currently 2nd in a class of 250 with 4 aps taken and a gpa of 4.0

Send your application to Michigan NOW and you will hear back from Michigan come Thanks Giving.

You will be considered for Ross and if Ross cannot give you an offer, you will definitely get into the college of LSA, which houses Michigan Econ program, one of the top 10 Economics programs in the nation. If you still want to attend Ross, you can still apply to it once at Michigan. I also like your chances at most of the other schools. If you do not get into Michigan by December 1, you can then start looking into safeties. But with your Salutorian standing, near 4.0 unweighed GPA and 1480 SAT score, I think Michigan's college of LSA is pretty much in the bag.

of the initial list you have, the easier schools to get in are NYU, Cornell, and CMU, but thats not saying much.

Good safeties would be Lehigh and RIT I think

Or Michigan as Alexandre has suggested

wats rit????

out of these 4 match/safeties, which one is the best....... penn state(can i consider this a safety), lehigh, bucknell, BC(is this a match/safety?)
