Help With College Search~

Hi! I’m new to this site, and I was hoping for some advice on where I should apply to this fall. Here’s my info…

GPA: 4.46 weighted, 3.85 unweighted
SAT: 2200
SAT Subjects: Literature 770, US History 760
AP: 555554
Extracurriculars: School newspaper editor, president of Leo Club, chairperson for District Leo Club, board member for 1 small club, internship with local newspaper, speech and debate, summer work with the Student Conservation Association, volunteer work with animal shelter and tutoring, NHS.
Letters of Rec: Should be pretty good.

I’m interested in International Studies & Psychology; are there any schools in the east coast/midwest with good programs for these? I also want to have lots of opportunities for study abroad, and don’t care too much about the sports scene. I’d prefer not a really large school, and a liberal/accepting vibe on campus is always nice

My dream school is WashU, but I know it’s a reach, so I was wondering if anyone had input on other universities/LACs I should apply to? I know I’m being pretty general but I’d appreciate the input. Thanks

Try using the supermatch function on CC

Midwestern LACs like Kenyon, Oberlin, Grinnell, and Macalester sound like good fits for you.

These schools each have their own personalities, but all should be accepting and have suitable curricula for your interests: Vassar, Wesleyan, Haverford, Hamilton.

Thank you

Take a look at the DC schools if you are interested in Int’l Relations: Georgetown (reach), George Washington (match) and American (safety if you can afford it and like it). Psychology is a very popular major at most schools so you are likely to have a good program anywhere, although some are more rigorous and research oriented than others.

Dickinson would be a low match for you and fits your criteria, I think.
