My son starting filling out the common application this weekend. We were curious if there is a good book, website, etc that would explain how to fill it out. Hints, suggestions, etc. Unfortantley only one college that he is applying to uses the common app but it his top choice. (Ga Tech). He is also applying to Mississippi State and Auburn.
Any hints, suggestions, etc would greatly be appreciated. His school does not provide any information on this.

One helpful hint…some sections (essays, activities) are better done outside the app and then pasted in when they are complete.
I would suggest being with your son when he fills out certain parts (like the section on family history), since he probably won’t know all the information. Most of the Common App is pretty self-explanatory.
Print it and proofread it before sending it in.
Doesn’t the Common App reset in August, meaning that everything is wiped out? OP, I would check on that before your son loses all of his information.
I think it’s changed. I believe it used to be the account was completely lost but now some stuff is rolled over.

@FutureGTmom pm me your email and I can send you some things and a very good video. My DD is a current GT student. Also google rick clark and inteview- he is the GT’s admission director and he gave a very good interview for a blog for a book and I thought his advice on what should be covered in the essay and application was very helpful. Be sure to read the GT Aadmission blog he does too.
