Really…folks need to let the CB know that this change is NOT an improvement from the consumer end!!
It’s tough and they don’t explain the changes well at all, but in the future it might be better. Conceivable one adult could be the NCP for one child but the CP for another, so having their own CB account might make sense.
guys?? what did you do?
@thumper1 I sent my CP CSS, but still enable to fill the one for my NCP! what should I do?
Already contacted college baord twice, no response yet
Why are YOU completing the NCP form? The NCP should be doing that.
If you are trying to do this using the same email as the custodial parent…that could be your issue.
Well, My NCP decided to screw me up like one week ago, she decided to stop talking to me…She is super unstable. If I knew that, I would have requested a waiver
@thumper1 Nope, I used a different email adress, and it won’t alow me to continue the application. But when I select that my NCP is my CP (like I spent more time with her) I can continue the application.
- Not sure If I do that, just to ensure that I meet the deadline
- Or send an email to each school, but won’t be able to met the deadline
I already sent a complaint to college board twice…still waiting
You would NOT have gotten a waiver simply because your NCP stopped talking to you…so put that aside.
Did you get that NCP form submitted too?
Well, I could have obtained her psychiatrist to fill a form to say that she is unreliable, and had trouble with alcohol too…
- Nope! The same message appears "No college requires this parent info...ect" The only way to bypass it, is to fill it as a second CP profile, and send an email to the college, idk I am so lost
her Psychiatrist is NOT going to talk to you,…because of privacy issues.
When did you sub it your custodial parent form? That has to be submitted FIRST…after that is submitted, the NCP form can be done…not before.
@thumper1 I had this problem with “no college requires this info” too, and I submitted the custodial parent CSS profile five days ago. It would not disappear, and I tried literally everything (quadruple-checked that the colleges require it, created two fake CSS profiles on one fake and one real email addresses to try if it would not work another way, wrote a message to college board which ignored me, discussed it with someone like a specialist form Fulbright in my country, NOTHING). After some time, I found I way to bypass it; if you enter into the column for non custodial parent that he/she was the one with whom you spent most of the time, then you are ok to go. BUT the profile behaves as a custodial parent profile, eg it is not different in any way. SO basically what most likely happened was that I have sent to the colleges TWO custodial parent profiles, hopefully they will be ok with that, because there was nothing else I could have done.
Hey for anyone struggling with this
- If the message " As for the moment no college requires the info...ect" appears just CALL College Board explain the matter, they will fix it : U.S. and Canada: 844-202-0524 International: 212-299-0096
They solved my issue, I was able to send a real NCP CSS. She was kind of unable to tell me what was the problem…but it seems that I did everything right, and that there was a problem on CSS (not sure though)
Hope it help you guys!
