Hello, I'm applying as an out-of-state student to several CSU schools online via CSU Mentor and I had a question regarding the online application and a-g.

I understand how to input the core classes (Math, Sciences, full yr. Visual Performing Arts etc.) but I'm a little confused when it comes to area g. Is this a section where I should include half credit courses like phys. ed and my handful of half credit art electives? Or is CSU not even interested seeing those at all?

Right now in that section I have listed 2 courses: a college level Health course (because I don't see a section where Health courses fit into a-f), and a full credit Anatomy course(because it wasn't a labrotory science).

Also, do my half credit art courses even count in my CSU gpa?
.
As an out-of-stater a-g can be a little confusing, so I appreciate any help.

I’m OOS so I’d also like to know this answer. Sorry I cannot be of any help. I would suggest e-mailing ucinfo@ucapplication.net to ask if you cannot find out.

I recommend you include those courses, including the .5 unit courses. This is just a section where you self-report your grades to give the evaluator an idea of what to expect when you send in your transcript. If you don’t do it exactly they way they want, they will probably give you the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand, if you willfully withhold academic information, that could jeopardize your chances for acceptance. They know the difference between an honest mistake and purposefully withholding information.

Personally, I did not include PE courses into the G section. Art definitely counts as a G requirement, but the only art requirement I took these 4 years was orchestra…

Anatomy should be included, and I also put a semester long Economics course as an elective, even though it was required for high school graduation.

Add anything that is extra. For me, I added 3 extra years of Piano, since only 1 year was required. Hahaha ^^
