Help with Dance Photos ASAP

Hi. I posted something about this on the Pace forum. My daughter took some dance pics at her studio by a teacher/helper and is wondering if they should be professionally done. She goes to 2 dance studios. The teacher at one was like, "your tights aren't pink enough, the lighting could be better, etc." She said the should be taken by a dance photographer with the teacher present to make corrections. My daughter has only been going to this studio for a few months as she wanted more intense ballet classes. The teacher is a little OCD. The pics we have are the proper poses and they look good. We are stressing out because Fordham wants photos by Nov. 1st. We don't know if this teacher is too obsessive or are we overthinking it all too much. My daughter's regular studio teacher just had surgery 2 weeks ago and is out recovering, so she can't help. Has anyone taken their own photos and got accepted into colleges? Or should we try and have them redone?

Our daughter, and the other seniors in her dance company, are taking their photos with a professional photographer this Saturday, although the photographer is a parent of one of the younger girls in the company. The head of the company is there to make sure the girls are properly positioned. There is one person known for head shots, about an hour from our home, that we used for our son for his musical theater auditions last year, and while they were very nice, it wasn’t worth the drive frankly. Having been through musical theater auditions, one can go a bit overboard on some less important parts of the process. My daughter’s head shots look great, and we used the same photographer who is doing her body shots.

Here’s an update on the dance pictures. The studio where my daughter has recently been taking additional classes helped her to get proper pictures done. This school is very ballet/modern focused and they are perfectionists. The teacher had one of the parents who is a professional photographer come in on a Sunday afternoon to do my daughter’s pictures. The teacher was present to make corrections. The photographer emailed them to us that very night and I was able to get them printed and sent to the schools I needed. What a difference in the quality of these pictures. They are perfect and I’m so glad they were able to help us out at the last minute. My daughter’s regular dance teacher, who she’s had for 14 years obviously hasn’t been much help. I think she’s out of the loop as to what is now required for college dance admissions. At least though we got everything done now with that and we learned alot.
