I'm a physics major and pretty much committed to keeping the possibility of a transfer in/after freshman year as alive as humanly possible(I'll still give my school a chance). I signed up for Philos, Physics, Calc, and History. Now I'm not so sure about that. A couple spots in Eng comp opened up. My record in High School English was a little spotty and doing well in college English could help my profile. But, I'm at the credit limit and can't decide what to drop or if I should drop. I like both of the two non major classes. On the one hand Philos would be a new experience and on the other I know I like history and philos is a little early in the morning for me. My school doesn't start till 10/1 so I have a while to decide.

Eh..History might fulfil a general education requirement, which increases competetiveness at a lot of schools. Philosophy, I dunno if it does or not. I know finishing English Composition 1 and 2 is a requirement to transfer to a lot of colleges also.

well you should see the Gen Ed requirments at the schools you want to apply to and go from there.

^^^What s/he said.

For the colleges I'm most interested in History and Philosophy fit either the same requirement or two different ones.

I think taking the English comp could be a good move. Drop whichever of the other two you want - either based on time of day/ quality of prof/ workload/ or whatever criterion you want.

DROP Philosophy ...2 semesters of english is required of all transfers and history transfers everywhere
