Now, I know that joining clubs during your senior years just looks aweful in college apps because it shows that the student is trying to fill in the list to get extra points. However, what if the person truly enjoys those activites? Because the CA doesn't have much room to write on the EC section, .

EC 1: Political Action Club. Let me start by saying that I did not take full advantage of the very few clubs in my school during my first years of HS because I was confused trying to figure things out (had just moved from another country) and also because I had some preconceptions of the clubs (albeit they were true). I joined the PAC of my school because a friend urged me to and I loved it. Although it is used by the majority of members as an excuse to chill and eat pizza while faking to do an EC, the few conversations/discussion I got with people who did care were fascinating.

EC 2: Robotics club. An FYI, I am applying for engineering. I actually joined the club in 9th grade thinking I could learn about robotics but was disappointed. The coordinator wasn't helpful and he told me to observe people working, who didn't explain things to me that much. I left after that year as it was too esoteric for me. Later on I took a computer science class, which made me think that maybe now I could understand some part of robotics (no the building part, but the coding) so I joined again in senior year and have had fun ever seen. I am one of the only few in the club who knows coding, so I help them learn it while they help me learn the designing of the machines.

So, is it possible to add this activites and explain that they are not just "filling-in" attempts for my app?

Thanks to anyone who responds!
